News has come to us at BeGolden that the award-winning Long Clawson Dairy in Leicestershire is celebrating its 100th birthday by launching a white Stilton cheese shot through with a combination of edible gold leaf and gold cinnamon liqueur. As it says on their website: '
the rich and famous now have a new after dinner luxury to add to their Christmas menu this year'. Even though the price tag is £608 a kilo, Stilton Gold has apparently generated more than a 1000 enquiries from interested purchasers including sheikhs and pop-stars. It seems eating gold is getting more fashionable, but you don't have to break the weekly food budget to keep up.....just get yourself a little pot of edible gold glitter, sprinkle on your cupcakes or mince pies and everyone will be happy.
